---WET APPLICATION ONLY!--- ---WET APPLICATION ONLY!--- Application Instructions Step 1 – REMOVE OLD DECALS It is important to completely remove old decals and adhesives. First use a blow dryer or leave your hood in the sun to heat the decals. This will help loosen the adhesive. Then you can peel off the old decals. To remove leftover adhesive on hood, use adhesive remover, which can be purchased at a hardware store. If you cannot find adhesive remover, an oil-based product like WD-40 will also work, but you will need to wash the snowmobile very well with soap and water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Step 2 – CLEAN SURFACE Remove all dirt, oil, and grease with soapy water. Once it’s clean, do not touch mounting surface. The oils in your hands will affect adhesion. A clean surface is the most important step in successful graphic application. Step 3 – APPLY Note: Some decals are very large and may require two people to make sure that the decal doesn’t fold over and stick to itself when peeling off backing. Apply a soapy water solution (dish soap works the best) onto the surface to allow the graphics to slide around before final placement. Lightly place the graphic on the surface of the snowmobile. The soapy water solution will help you slide the graphic into position. The decal will lay flat as the soap solution is worked out. Once you are happy with the alignment, use a soft cloth or towel (use a credit card wrapped in the towel for more of a straight edge) to apply pressure to graphic beginning at the center and moving outward to the edges, pressing out fluid and being careful to press out any air bubbles. Be sure to apply ample pressure especially at the edges. Take your time: you have 10-15 minutes to position and flatten your decal. Patience is the key factor. Step 4 – FINISH Allow graphics to sit for 2 hours. Then reapply pressure to the graphics, to make sure they are dry and completely secure. Click here for print-friendly version: |
